Important tip on replacing Timer motors. There are many factors that can cause a motor to fail including normal wear and tear. One cause that can be overlooked is bound pistons and worn seals and spacers. If your control piston is bound, it can cause undo stress on the motor causing it to malfunction. Old seals and spacers can break or swell. To check your piston, look for leakage at the top of the piston. You can also look for signs of staining. A leaking piston must be replaced before replacing the motor. Another way to test the piston is to turn the regeneration knob. If it is difficult to turn (i.e. takes a lot of pressure or two hands to turn it), the piston is bound and must be replaced. If the piston damages the motor, it will void the warranty. You should consider replacing the seals/spacers at this time as well.

See "Rebuild Kits" for a parts kit that is designed specifically for your particular system.
